Meeting Minutes
The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC) held a meeting on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the Old Courtroom at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, Newtown, CT.
Members Present: Debbie Aurelia, Martin Blanco, Joseph Grasso, Jennifer Johnston, Robert Kaiser, Donna Mangiafico, Linda Watson
Members Absent: Marina Moscovici
Auxiliary Members Present: Jennifer Rogers
The minutes of the Wednesday, August 13, 2008 meeting were approved with the one amendment. The number of crayon boxes for the parade should be 2,000 at a cost of $369.20 including shipping. The cost of the labels and printing of labels has been donated.
Officer Reports:
Jennifer Johnston, Debbie Aurelia, and Donna Mangiafico will meet on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 7 PM in the Town Clerk’s Office to work on the NCAC Bylaws.
Martin Blanco reported on the progress of the variety show “The Flagpole Radio Café.” Jim Allyn will be the Music Director and one of the guests will be Newtown musician and composer Daria Musk. The first show will be in the Alexandria Room of the Edmond Town Hall on September 20, 2008 at 7 PM. Martin will send a press release to NCAC members shortly.
Members of the NCAC discussed the Labor Day Parade float and began making signs and banners. The NCAC will meet Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 3:00 PM at 83 Castle Hill Road, Newtown to complete the parade displays.
The NCAC has a spot in the parade listed as “Division 5 – Currituck Road – Green” and are #16 in that division.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the Old Courtroom at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, Newtown, CT.
